Personal Data Protection Authority and Turkish Informatics Association held the Personal Data Protection Summit, which was held for the fourth time this year, on October 10. At the summit, it is emphasized that the illegalities that have occurred in social media and some digital platforms, which have taken place widely in in recent days pose vital risks to an individual’s privacy.
As a result of the investigations carried out regarding the activities of the Personal Data Protection Authority, a total of 839 million 426 thousand lira fines have been imposed and 717 standard contracts have been reported to the Authority; It was announced that 42,714 of 44,322 denunciations and complaint applications were concluded. In addition, in the statements made, 346 out of 1530 data breach notifications were announced on the Authority’s website; It was stated that 10 letters of undertaking regarding the transfer of personal data abroad were approved and 1167 legal opinions were given on issues within the scope of Authority’s duties.
